The Birth of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)

The Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) was born on 12th Rabi-ul-Awal i.e. 20 April 570 A.D., on Monday in Makkah. His father Hazrat Abdullah died before his birth therefore; his grandfather Hazarat Abdul Mutalib brought him under his care.

When he was six years old, his mother Hazrat Amina died and after two years his grandfather also expired. Then his uncle Hazrat Abu Talib took over his guardianship.

His Personal Appearance

Allah’s last Messenger Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) was of medium height. He was slim and without protruding belly. He had a large head, wide chest and broad shoulders. His complexion was whitish fair and he had a broad forehead. His eyes were black and eye brows were fine, thin and arched. His teeth were brilliant white and when he was happy, he only smiled.

Over his back, between his two shoulders, he had a dark brown patch, which is said to be indicating the sign of “The Seal of Prophets”.

He always kept his body and clothes clean and tidy. He used to wear simple clothes and loved to use perfume. He ate little; slept little and spoke little. He was truthful, sincere, humble, soft-spoken and selfless who used to live and care for others. He loved the youngsters and respected his elders. In general, he had an extraordinarily impressive personality.

He loved praying to Allah even during his youth and adolescence. He always spoke truth and never told a lie. In the time of ignorance, Muhammad (S.A.W), walked upright and straight and won from the people of Makkah the name of “Trustworthy”

As Muslims we should obey the teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). He was the only man with all the qualities of a perfect Muslim and he is the perfect model of a human being for the entire mankind.

“Rukhe Mustafa hai who aina aisa doosra aina
Na humari buzm-e-khayal main, na dookan-e-aina saaz main”
